Here are a couple things that we use in the SCA. While they are not mandatory
it is a good idea to get these eventually. Most of this stuff can be bought at any event.
| Garb |
Historic clothing from the period of 600-1600. Loaner garb is usually available. The most basic
is the T-tunic |
Feast gear
|
Basically a plate, bowl, knife, fork, and spoon. Either ceramic or wood. Avoid plastic. If you
go to an event that has a feast, you need to provide your own feast gear. Check with your group to
see if they have any they can loan you. |
Mug
|
I listed this separately because your mug is something that you take around all day with you.
Usually you can get a belt clasp to go with it. |
Knife
|
This can be anything between a dagger to a short sword. This will replace your pocket knife. Make
sure to check site restrictions before you go to an event. |
| Sandals or boots |
While you can wear tennis shoes those who want to look more period looking can invest in leather
sandals or boots.
|
| Basket |
A basket is an easy way to carry around that class work without having to carry around your book
bag. |
| Cloak and Clasp |
A period replacement to a jacket or such. Can be used as clothing, blanket, or spread it on the
ground for a place to sit.
